Since 2024, Hof University of Applied Sciences has been an official YES partner through the StartUpLab, bringing entrepreneurial thinking directly into academia.
From Research to Impact: Creating Meaning and Value (Online Workshop)
Have you ever thought about the application potential of your own research? If not, this workshop is for you. You will reflect about user groups and the network of stakeholders that surround you and your research. How will your research benefit them? Brainstorm potential use cases and help each other to take your ideas to the next level. What impact would you like to create with your research? By looking at the golden circle framework, this workshop focuses on the WHY behind your work. With a view to the Sustainable Development Goals you will think about the potential areas of impact you can create with your own research.
The online workshop especially addresses master’s students and young academics from all disciplines.

Ideation (Workshop)
You have been working on your research for a while, but haven’t figured out how to translate it into a concrete business idea? Or maybe you have many ideas and cannot decide which one to follow? Based on the Design Thinking methodology, you will try out different ideation techniques. You will learn what makes a good idea and how to formulate it for testing.

Finding the right job as an international student can feel challenging, but the right tools make all the difference. In this talk, we will look at how to search for jobs effectively, read and understand job adverts, and use networking to open doors. We will also touch on important legal matters you should know when applying for work. This session is all about giving you practical advice and confidence as you take your first steps into the German job market.
