Whether you are preparing to embark on your career journey or seeking to enhance your employability prospects, this talk will provide valuable insights and practical tips to help you on your way.

Do you want to attend a job fair well prepared and make valuable contacts? Are you wondering how to approach employers with confidence and introduce yourself professionally in just a few sentences? Do you want your CV to create a strong first impression at the company booth?
Then this workshop is the right place for you!
The workshop covers the following topics:
- Preparing effectively for a job fair and defining clear personal goals
- Approaching companies with confidence and making a positive first impression
- Your self-introduction at the job fair: structure, content, and examples
- Your CV as a door opener: structure, content, and layout for the job fair
- Researching companies, asking the right questions, and following up after the fair
What makes this workshop special: Theory is followed immediately by practical application. You will develop your personal self-introduction for the job fair, review your CV with a job fair focus, and prepare concrete strategies for successful conversations with employers. There will also be sufficient time for individual questions.
Trainer: Julia Barden, psychologist with professional experience in the HR departments of companies such as Deutsche Bahn, Commerzbank and BASF Group.
No registration is required. The Career Service will send the Zoom link for the event by email.

Building on “LIBRARY for Beginners – Welcome to the Library,” we’ll help you learn how to effectively use the library catalog, ebooks, and interlibrary loan. You’ll also get an overview of journals, newspapers, and databases that will help you in your studies.
In addition to the basics, you’ll learn about new database features, including AI-powered tools that can assist you with your research.
You will receive the access link in time before the event.

In this talk, we will look at how to search for jobs effectively, read and understand job adverts, and use networking to open doors. We will also touch on important legal matters you should know when applying for work. This session is all about giving you practical advice and confidence as you take your first steps into the German job market.
