In addition to academic knowledge and practical skills, the department places a strong emphasis on personal and professional competencies, including teamwork, intercultural awareness, communication skills, and international experience. Faculty members with extensive industry experience support students throughout their academic journey in bachelor's, master's, and dual-study programs.

Engineering Department

The Engineering Department offers innovative degree programs and interdisciplinary collaboration across a broad range of engineering fields. With a structure that is unique in Germany, the department brings together multiple campuses and areas of expertise—from sustainable textiles, mobility, and design to the interdisciplinary bachelor's program in Engineering Sciences, as well as environmental engineering, materials engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering.

Hands-on learning, state-of-the-art laboratories, and close partnerships with industry provide an ideal environment for preparing students for successful engineering careers and future professional opportunities.

The Engineering Department is also the home to several research institutes:

Department for Computer Science

The Department for Computer Science is dedicated to developing secure, connected, and user-centred solutions for the digital future. Practice-oriented teaching and applied research form the foundation of its modern computer science programs, ranging from Bachelor's and Master's degrees to cooperative doctoral opportunities.

The department is also home to the Institute for Information Systems (iisys), one of Bavaria's leading computer science research institutes at a University of Applied Sciences, bringing together a broad range of research activities under one roof.

Department of Interdisciplinary and Innovative Sciences

The Department of Interdisciplinary and Innovative Sciences takes a holistic approach to the challenges of the future. By connecting different academic disciplines, it creates an environment where innovative approaches to teaching and research can thrive—especially in areas where complex challenges require interdisciplinary solutions.

The department promotes new forms of collaboration in fields such as health, quality of life, urban development, and communication design. Students develop interdisciplinary thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and practical expertise at the intersection of multiple disciplines.

Graduate School

The Graduate School offers career-focused MBA and master's programs designed for professionals with prior work experience who are ready to take the next step in their careers. Combining academic excellence with practical application, the programs prepare students for leadership roles in international business and industry.

A defining feature of the Graduate School is its integrated two-semester industry internship, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real business environments while gaining valuable professional experience in Germany. Company projects, site visits, intensive German language training, and dedicated career support further strengthen graduates' employability and long-term career prospects. Small class sizes, experienced professors with industry backgrounds, and a strong international community create a supportive environment for academic and professional success.
