What is the Erasmus+ Programme?

The Erasmus+ programme aims to boost skills and employability, as well as modernising Education, Training, and Youth work. It provides opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience and volunteer abroad.

Erasmus+ supports transnational partnerships among Education, Training, and Youth institutions and organisations to foster cooperation and bridge the worlds of Education and work in order to tackle the skills gaps we are facing in Europe.

The program includes following parts:

  • Key Action 1: Mobilities for individuals
  • Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the change of good practice
  • Key Action 3: Support of policy reform

Mobilities for Individuals are the biggest part of Erasmus+. You can find more information here

Universities from participating countries can work with those from neighbourhood countries, non-EU Balkan countries, Asia, African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, and Latin America to develop their educational systems.

Study Grants

The Erasmus+ Programme offers multiple benefits to students wishing to study abroad:

  • Exchange students are exempt from tuition fees at the receiving institution
  • A shared European framework ensures that accreditation of credits gained at the receiving institution works smoothly
  • Students receive financial support during their stay abroad (this is not mandatory, see exeptions below)

Please note that Erasmus+ funding can only be granted after you have been accepted as an Erasmus exchange student at the receiving institution.

Students cannot receive Erasmus+ grants during their first year of study (excluding graduate students)

Internship grants

Full-Time students at Hof University have the opportunity to apply for an Erasmus+ Mobility Grant for their internship in another European country (in this case Germany is excluded). Support for learning mobility essentially comprises two aspects. The first sets out the framework conditions. This stipulates that companies, universities and students must adhere to certain standards, and that, through a recognition process, they can be confident that their internship will be recognised as part of their degree programme. The second aspect is financial support. Whilst this is not a mandatory component, it is usually provided as well.

MoveOn - Mobility Portal for International Internships: https://hof.moveon4.de/form/6a3cc6ed43e9661c4702f075/eng
