Among other things, our graduates first learn about different classic and agile project management methods. They then work on real projects, supervised and professionally guided by professors with in-depth experience in project management.

Students structure, plan, and manage their projects in a committed and solution-oriented manner and thereby also learn how to lead interdisciplinary teams. It is less important whether the project is a research project, a product development or a change project. The focus of our Master's program is on teaching general methodological skills for international project managers.

This Master's program provides in-depth knowledge in agile, classical and hybrid project management methods. Project management with IT systems and taking into account legal and personnel psychology aspects is also an important component. The structure of the study program is based on the course of a project and the different disciplines and challenges of project management: working in international teams, leadership without authority, project planning, risk management - to pick out just a few contents.

The core of the program in the second semester is the subject "Management of Project Groups", in which students already lead a first project and learn to lead bachelor students as team members.

What's special about our program is that you can choose between three very different majors.

In addition to the existing concentrations "Technical Project Management" (M.Eng.) and "Commercial Project Management" (M.A.), we offer you a new, third concentration, "Environmental and Sustainability Project Management" (M.A.), which familiarizes you with the special features of sustainability projects.

At Hof University, the Master's program in International Project Management is offered as a full-time program; the standard period of study is three semesters.

The first two semesters form the theoretical basis of the project management training. The first semester serves to convey the basics, the second semester to deepen them. In order to meet the different requirements of commercial and technical project management, students are prepared for their intended degree (M.Eng. or M.A.) partly in an interdisciplinary manner and partly in separate courses.

You will have the opportunity to study abroad after the second semester. Our International Office will be happy to assist you in choosing your study location and courses there.

The third semester is a practical study semester, it includes the final thesis (Master Thesis) and two colloquia.

Graduates of the Master International Project Management are prepared for everyday life in international project management, with the "Technical Project Management" concentration making graduates specialists in engineering projects. The English-language concentration "Environmental and Sustainability Project Management" is the optimal major for students who later want to work as project managers in environmental management. "Commercial Project Management" is designed for students with a commercial bachelor's background - geared towards commercial project management in large, international projects.
