Information on exams and crediting

Exams

Below you will find some information on the subject of examinations (e.g. examination board, examination committee, crediting of achievements, examination inspection, etc.). Please contact the staff member responsible for your course of study at the Office of Student Affairs.

An examination board is formed for each degree program, which in particular makes technical decisions on crediting, but is also responsible for determining the examination results. For more details on the tasks of the examination boards, see § 6 of the Allgemeine Prüfungsordnung (APO).

The examination board of the university is primarily responsible for dealing with objections in examination matters as well as for fundamental questions of examination law (§ 5 APO).

The employees in the study office execute the decisions of the above-mentioned examination bodies. All applications to the aforementioned bodies must be submitted to the Student Affairs Office!

Final thesis

Bachelor- / Masterthesis

Towards the end of your studies, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your acquired knowledge and skills in a final thesis (Bachelor's or Master's thesis). The earliest date by which you can register the topic of your thesis and the latest date by which you should register it can be found in the General Examination Regulations of Hof University of Applied Sciences (APO) or the respective study and examination regulations.

You can find the registration in the PRIMUSS-portal under the menu item Examination office -Registration for Thesis.

Thesis - general information

The maximum duration of the thesis is defined in the respective SER. As a rule, final theses are to be submitted in duplicate (exceptions are possible for artistic final theses!) to the study office of Hof University of Applied Sciences, room A 113. Additionally, the thesis has to be submitted on a data carrier (USB stick) and a one-page short summary. Theses may also be worked on in English (depending on the course of study and in consultation with the supervising professors); provided that the individual work share of a student can be clearly determined, the topic of a thesis may also be worked on by several students. Please note that you must include a declaration in the thesis that you have written it independently!
