By successfully completing the part-time degree program “Nursing (B.Sc.)”, you will earn the qualification of Registered Nurse (B.Sc.) with an academic degree. This qualification enables you to approach everyday challenges in healthcare analytically and reflectively, and to handle complex nursing tasks and processes even more effectively by incorporating the latest research findings.

Is patient-centered, comprehensive nursing care important to you?
Would you like to take an active role in shaping and managing highly complex nursing processes?
Are you eager to apply your knowledge directly alongside your professional work and help advance patient care?
Are you already working in nursing and want to complement your professional practice with advanced expertise and an academic education?
Do you want to tackle the megatrends in healthcare and develop practical solutions?

If this sounds like you, then our Nursing B.Sc. program is the perfect fit!

You will become a visionary nursing professional, collaborating with colleagues, recognizing their potential, and integrating it into patient care. With your knowledge, understanding of the healthcare system, and strong research skills, you will support patients, people in need of care, and even healthy individuals alike. This prepares you to meet the demands of modern healthcare and to develop innovative solutions for the future.

Through exchange within your study group and the freedom to think and reflect, you will experience how much education can empower and energize you in everyday life.

Education. Network. Freedom. Thinking.

You are studying part-time.

Your studies consist of:

  • On-site block seminars at our learning location in Bamberg, which take place on average once a month (usually on Thursdays and Fridays), and
  • Guided self-study, during which you engage more deeply with the content you have learned.

In addition, you will make use of self-study time, as your strong motivation for professional specialization drives you to seek out and explore further in-depth information.

The standard period of study is four semesters on a part-time basis. Competencies acquired during your previous vocational training — up to 105 ECTS credits — are already taken into account.

The courses are offered in a blended learning format, combining in-person sessions and guided self-study. On average, you will be on campus two days per month for lectures and seminars.

Recognition of prior nursing training: 105 ECTS

Our joint success story

“A nursing degree enables you to understand complex interconnections in healthcare and nursing, make research-based decisions, and use theoretical knowledge to introduce new approaches in practice that go beyond the practical skills of traditional training.”
(Prof. Dr. Matthias Drossel, Program Director)

Nursing is a field of high relevance, where demands are constantly evolving. The sensitivity inherent to this profession – providing the best possible and continuously improving patient care – must remain the central focus. With all our expertise and passion, we prepare you for these areas so that your patients receive exactly what makes your profession so rewarding: better outcomes! And making a difference brings happiness.

Thanks to our program-specific focus on sector-specific areas of practice, you can shape your career path individually. In addition to key professional skills, you will also gain cross-disciplinary competencies, such as making informed professional decisions based on the latest nursing research. Digitalization is another important topic. While you won’t become an IT specialist or need advanced technical skills, it’s crucial to become familiar with this megatrend.

The combination of theory and practice allows you to apply what you learn directly in your work, while also bringing questions from practice into lectures and discussions with our experts. Our elective modules further emphasize the program’s flexibility.
