Meet fellow students from Germany, abroad, and the local community of Hof for an evening of fun, laughter, and friendly competition. Enjoy a variety of board games, make new friends, and practice your language skills in a relaxed, social atmosphere.
This event is taking place in our stunden café Zur Auszeit in the city center of Hof from 19:00 to 23:00.
This event is open to all international and German students. Since space is limited, we kindly invite you to come on time. We will have free non alcoholic drinks for the first 30 players (we will give you more details that day).
To help explain the rules of the board games and support the event, we are looking for 8 volunteers (4 international and 4 German students). If you are interested, please register below. After the selection process, you will receive a confirmation email and further information.

Are you eager to apply for your dream job or the perfect internship in Germany but don’t know where to start? Do you want to create a convincing CV and LinkedIn profile that meet German standards, highlight your strengths, and attract recruiters? Do you have specific questions about the German application process or your documents and want to ask an expert?
Then you’ve come to the right place! This workshop will cover the following topics:
- Job search strategies in Germany: where to look and how to apply effectively
- Analyzing job descriptions: identifying key requirements and understanding how Applicant Tracking
Systems (ATS) work - Creating a modern CV according to German standards and optimizing it for ATS and recruiters
- Writing a targeted cover letter that clearly shows motivation and job fit
- Optimizing your LinkedIn profile to attract recruiters
In this hands-on workshop, you will work step-by-step on your own application: find a suitable job ad, analyze its requirements, draft a tailored cover letter (in bullet points) and adapt your CV to German standards. By the end, you’ll have a clear picture of what a convincing application in Germany looks like, and a solid start on your own documents.
Trainer: Julia Barden, psychologist with professional experience in the HR departments of companies such as Deutsche Bahn, Commerzbank and BASF Group.
No registration is required. The Career Service will send the Zoom link for the event by email.
In the “Business Dinner” workshop, business etiquette is practiced and internalized during a shared three-course meal. Topics include appropriate conversation at the table, small talk, and dining etiquette (e.g., seating arrangements, the role of the host, proper use of glasses, cutlery, and napkins, and how to eat specific dishes).
Trainer: Cindy Seifert, certified etiquette trainer and business etiquette coach, with over 20 years of professional experience in the corporate sector, including leadership responsibilities.
Registration is from May 7th to May 13th via online here. Be aware that we have only 14 slots available.
In case you have been accepted into this workshop, your final registration will be finalized upon payment of a 25 € participation fee (for the three-course meal). The fee will be collected in person at FIT-Project & Career Service office (A 116) on Tuesday, May 19th from 13:00 to 14:00.

Hof University offers you the two job portals StellenHof and Hochschuljobbörse, for searches for (part-time) jobs, internships, working student positions and theses.

StellenHof
The StellenHof portal is a protected area that only students of Hof University can view.
The portal contains a large number of job advertisements from Germany and abroad. All offers on StellenHof have been received by the university directly from companies and institutions in order to make them known among the students.
These offers can, but do not necessarily have to be published in other job portals on the internet.

Praxistage are "join in days"
Praxistage are aimed at students of engineering, computer science, economics and social sciences and give you additional opportunities to get to know many companies, build your personal network and gain further insight into your professional practice.
Look over the shoulder of a professional during the workday, visit labs, construction sites, manufacturing plants, etc. Deepen your industry knowledge through company presentations, (online) workshops, etc. Provided there are enough offers for your field of expertise, you can experience 10 different companies or organizations during these 10 working days.
Use the Praxistage for your career
Make contacts for your practical study semester, your bachelor or master thesis, a working student job or use this opportunity to get to know your potential future employer for your career start. Build up your own network! Perhaps one or the other company will also become important for you later on.
