"I chose Hof University’s International Computer Science programme because of its seamless transition from English to German. What appealed to me most is how the programme eases you in — starting in English and then gradually transitioning to German. For me, the best way to learn a language is by using it in everyday situations, and this approach allows exactly that without being thrown in at the deep end.
The programme is also very practice-oriented, which is ideal for computer science. You’re not just learning theory, but actively applying it — with opportunities to work on projects together with professors. Beyond academics, student clubs cover everything from environmental initiatives to e-sports, so there’s truly something for everyone.
As an international student, you receive a lot of support from the International Office, whether it’s advice, help with finding a job, or support with settling in. Although Hof is a small town, there is a surprisingly diverse international student community.
My advice: come with an open mind and an open heart — it will make it much easier to connect with others and discover new cultures along the way."
