Since September 2022 I am professor for applied health care at Hof University of Applied Sciences. Here, I am allowed to accompany students in the learning process, for example, in the modules 'Introduction to Medicine', 'Anatomy and Physiology', 'Epidemiology and Statistics', 'Scientific Work' and others. First in the study program innovative health care. This I am also allowed to accompany as a study program leader.
In the time of 2009 -2022
First as a lecturer, from 2010 in a permanent position, I worked at the Bamberg Academies for Health and Nursing Professions (shareholders: Sozialstiftung Bamberg, gemeinnützige Krankenhausgesellschaft Landkreis Bamberg, AWO Bamberg Stadt und Land, GGSD). First, I was in charge of an area in further education and training, then the training area. From 2020, I was then the academy director and was responsible for all educational areas. From 2018, after successful doctorate (Dr. phil.) in the field of gerontology and demography on the topic 'On the care of older people by strengthening informal care - shown in the region of Upper Franconia', I was professor of medical education at the SRH University of Health. There I taught the topics of educational science, didactics, subject didactics, gerontology, medicine/natural sciences and school development in the bachelor's and master's degree programs in medical education. I had already been active in teaching there since 2010. I designed the nursing BSc. degree program and successfully brought it to accreditation in 2020, which started at the Bamberg location. In this study program, I accompanied the Evidence Based Nursing (EBN) modules and expanded nursing expertise. The third-party funded project Didactics and Research Transfer, which I was allowed to lead from 2020, enabled a comprehensive further development of school development models, especially for the healthcare sector. Within this framework, the so-called RefID model (Reflection Identification Model) was developed. In 2022, the SURefId Institute (School and Corporate Development based on Reflection and Identification) was founded by myself and another partner.
I am a health care and nursing professional and worked in the intensive care area. As a sideline, I completed a bachelor's degree in medical education. Afterwards the master of nursing science/pedagogy MSc. I am involved in professional politics on the board of the Association of Nurses in Bavaria. Furthermore, I am involved in an honorary capacity with the Federal Association of Health Care Teachers. As managing editor of the journal 'Lehren und Lernen im Gesundheitswesen' (Teaching and Learning in Health Care) published by Pflege Professionell (Facultas), I publish an open source journal for pedagogy in health care.
