Scientific career

Since 10/2018 I am professor (W2) for manufacturing processes in mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Hof. In January 2021 I was elected to the office of Dean for the Faculty of Engineering.. The StartUpLab(at)FH project, which will start in April 2020, and the MakerSpace of Hof University of Applied Sciences, which is currently being set up for this purpose, I am managing together with my colleague Prof. Michael Seidel (Faculty of Economics) and in close cooperation with the EINSTEIN1.

Prior to that, I was a postdoc and later a member of the institute management at the Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing Technology (IWF), Chair of Production Technologies and Process Automation, Technische Universität Braunschweig. At the same time I was actively involved in the Public Private Partnership Open Hybrid LabFactory Wolfsburg together with the companies ENGEL, VW, Siempelkamp, BASF, IFF, KWD Automotive, Schmalz and many others. At the Leibniz University of Hanover I worked at the Institute for Machine Tools and Production Engineering as head of the departments Tailored Surfaces and Grinding Technology.

Scientific education

04/2014 Leibniz University Hannover, PhD; Topic: "Polishing of ceramic knee implants with compliant diamond tools"; Semester abroad at MEM Research Center, Institute of Surgical Technologies and Biomechanics, Medical Faculty of the University of Bern, Switzerland; Studies at the University of Applied Sciences, University of Applied Sciences Wilhelmshaven (OOW), Study of Precision Engineering / Medical Technology.

Awards
