The bachelor´s degree course Media Design runs over 7 semesters and offers on the basis of a concept and strategic oriented theory of design an ideal environment for education and promotion of innovative and self- confident design personalities.
Our own campus in Münchberg (Upper Franconia) is an ideal environment for creativity and studying. We've provide small classes, personal care and education with a practical orientation. Therefore we are working together with museums, public organisations and companies.
The educational spectrum covers in detail fundamentals of design, Typography / layout and Web Design as well as Editorial Design, Graphic Design, Interaction and Interface Design. Design training will be embedded with topics about analysis and strategy development as for example Design Methodology, Design Theory, Usability / User Experience Design, Project Calculation, Project Management and Marketing.
Being part of the faculty of economics shows the innovative and future focused orientation of the Media Design study programme. This enables synergies and education offers which go far beyond a classical design course. Through the integration of design- as well as economic competence design students learn to use their creative potential equally for design, conceptual, economic and social innovations. They learn to link creativity, market economy and society connections professionally and successfully to understand design as a basis for innovation, as well as for the development of creative, sustainable strategies within economic decision making processes.
Our graduate students are working as art or creative directors, information architects, interaction or user experience designers in design agencies, design-departments of companies, as researchers and freelancers.
