Program structure – Mechanical Engineering International (B.Eng.)
The study program consists of six theoretical semesters and one international year. The first two semesters cover basic subjects like mathematics, physics, computer science, business administration and mechanical engineering. In the following two semesters, modules like automation, machine building and production management build up a profound knowledge of the key topics of mechanical engineering. Some of the majors in these two years are taught in the English language.
The international year is scheduled for the fifth and sixth semester. First, the students go during the fall semester to a partner university, (e.g. to Joensuu/Finland, Manipal/India..) to study. Following the spring semester, students do a 20-week internship in their host country.
Upon returning to Hof for the seventh and eigth semester, students can choose one of the following specialization areas:
- Production
- Efficient Product Design
During these semesters, students are also expected to write their bachelor's thesis.
