Clinical psychology

In the seminar you will deal with mental illnesses and the effects of physical impairments. You will learn to understand such mental problems and how they arise. The content is therefore the biological, social, emotional, cognitive and developmental and behavioral bases of mental disorders.

Industrial and Organizational Psychology

In industrial and organizational psychology, you deal with questions of interaction between people or between people and machines within companies and other organizations. Topics include personnel selection, personnel motivation, workload in the work environment, the attachment of people to organizations, and socialization.

Social work and social management

Do you want to learn more about how to promote the social and societal development of people and their self-determination? The "Social Work and Social Management" specialization offers interesting insights into issues of social justice, the human right to participation and respect for diversity.

Culture and cultural work

Due to globalization, the dimension of culture, especially in combination with other factors such as gender, is becoming increasingly important. You will learn what influence spatial, ecological and economic living conditions have on culture and discuss perspectives on how people of different cultural orientations can live together without tension.

Social Planning

You will acquire knowledge of the structural requirements of social work and social planning. You will learn what effects social change and socio-political decisions have on the provision of services and how these can be dealt with in a targeted manner within the framework of planning processes.

Methods of social work

In the module, you will explore in depth both "primary" methods such as social case work, social group work, and social community work, as well as "secondary methods" such as supervision, planning, and consultation.

Care

Are you interested in how to ensure that nursing care can continue to be provided with high quality and economically in the future against the background of demographic change? In the "Nursing" specialization, you will acquire in-depth know-how about the nursing process as well as the methods and tools of nursing.

Professional nursing care in the health care system

Characteristics and concepts of effective nursing care are part of this module. You will address how to provide care and support, alone or in collaboration with other professional caregivers. You will learn about nursing theories and current nursing models for assessing resources and nursing needs. You will use these as a basis for setting goals, planning nursing interventions and their implementation as well as the subsequent evaluation of the results in order to achieve the best possible treatment and care outcomes as well as the highest possible quality of life in all phases of life. Differences between geriatric, nursing and pediatric care are also highlighted.

Challenges of care in an aging society

The greatest challenge facing our society is demographic change, which is bringing with it an increasing number of very old people and people in need of care. Therefore, the further development of concepts for the care of elderly and multimorbid people, especially in rural areas, will be discussed. Furthermore, considerations for the adaptation of legal framework conditions will be analyzed. Approaches to achieving greater social recognition of nursing care will also be discussed.

Home care
