Applied Psychology M.Sc.

The areas of application of this Master's program are impressively broad and offer a wide range of professional opportunities. Perspectives range from self-help promotion, health training and coaching to supervision, health services research and diagnostics.

With our Master's program in Applied Psychology, we offer bachelor's graduates in psychology or interdisciplinary psychology (e.g., business psychology) the opportunity to earn a general degree (M.Sc.) in psychology.

You will gain the necessary know-how as well as the professional, methodological and personal competencies to responsibly conduct independent and application-oriented behavioral research in both a corporate and university context.

The focus of the Master's program in Advanced Psychology is on practical questions relating to human behavior (including consumer behavior, behavior in groups, leadership behavior) from the business world, which are answered in an application-oriented and scientifically sound manner.

As a Master of Science, you are capable of independent scientific work after completing your studies, and are thus authorized to continue your academic career with a doctorate.

3rd semester:

Master's thesis and accompanying master's seminar

The modules are mainly offered in German, occasionally also in English.

The practical and application-oriented focus prepares graduates for a scientific or entrepreneurial career:

  • Market researcher
  • Suitability diagnostics

  • A completed university degree with an overall grade of 2.5 or better in the scope of at least 210 credits (bachelor's or diploma degree) at a German university or an equivalent degree at a foreign university
  • Bachelor graduates in psychology or an application-related interdisciplinary psychology course such as business psychology
  • Applicants with a lack of basic knowledge as well as applicants with a first professional degree of 180 credits may be admitted if they fulfill a post-qualification requirement.
