Students can request temporary leave of absence for important reasons.
Students wishing to take a semester off are required to submit a request form during the reregistration period of each semester, detailing their reasons for seeking temporary leave. Important reasons can be, for instance:
With the exception of parental leave, a temporary leave may not last more than two semesters. Students on temporary leave are generally not allowed to take exams for the first time. However, they may be required to retake exams if the deadline for retaking them falls within the temporary leave. Students on parental leave or students on temporary leave due to pregnancy are allowed to take exams for the first time.
