Professor Dr. Peter Schäfer, who is the Ombudsman for disabled students at the Hof University of Applied Sciences, is at your disposal for current students, as well as applicants.
Disabled students have, like all other students, the right to equal treatment in examinations. Thus, they may apply for examination accommodations, if physical or mental disabilities make it impossible for them to pass an exam in due form or time. This application should describe the physical or mental disability and should propose a concrete solution, such as an extension of examination time, the availability of a laptop or other device, a separate exam room, etc. Each case is unique and deserves individual scrutiny. The examination board is responsible for granting examination accommodations. The application must be filed in the students´ office informally, but in writing during the regular examination application period.
