Infos regarding summer semester 2020
The Bavarian Ministry has postponed the start of the summer semester 2020 to April 20, 2020. Up to April 19, there will not be any in-class lectures. To cover all required teaching topics, lectures will then be concentrated. For further details, please check your emails.
Opening hours of the University
Any persons returning from risk areas are not allowed to enter the university.
Persons who returned from a risk area classified by the Robert-Koch-Institute are not allowed to enter the university for 14 days after leaving the risk area. This regulation applies until 19.04.2020.
The 24h opening of the university is currently suspended.
Please try to clarify your questions by phone or email. We will not accept group gatherings at the university!
To provide you with a space for self studies, we will keep the following computer rooms open during the university opening hours: B006 (Hof), B012 (Hof), R614 (Münchberg).
Please make sure to keep an appropriate distance (min. 1.5 metres) from other persons.
Due to the spread of the corona virus, all libraries at Bavarian universities (including the library of the Hof University of Applied Sciences) will be closed until the end of the Easter holidays (April 19th, 2020). Please use the digital offers, such as online lending.
24-hour opening of the library:
Will be suspended from March 14th, 2020 until April 19th, 2020 inclusive.

Duration of the summer semester: 20.04.2020 - 30.09.2020
Start of lectures: 20.04.2020
End of lectures: 18.07.2020
Exam period: 19.07.2020 - 08.08.2020
If possible, however, all exams should be finished until July 31.
During the week from August 1st to August 8, events/exams should only take place on a “voluntary” basis, that is if the student and the examiner agree on choosing a date after July 31st.
For students of the study program “Computer Science for Public Administration”, individual solutions will be provided.
Course ot the semester for ifw / Graduate School:
We will have seperate regulations for the students of the ifw/Graduate School.
Lectures on Saturdays
In order to obtain a sufficient number of days for the missed lectures, all Saturdays will be official lecture days. The following rules apply:
On 25.4. and 6.6., lectures will be held according to the time table of Monday;
On 9.5. and 13.6., according to the time table of Tuesday,
On 16.5. and 20.6., according to the time table of Wednesday,
On 23.5. and 27.6., according to the time table of Thursday,
On 30.5. and 4.7., according to the time table of Friday.

Hof University of Applied Sciences places strong emphasis on its international relations. We maintain a close network of more than 100 partner institutions in more than 40 countries and have been active in the ERASMUS+ program for many years. Double degree programs exist with several foreign universities in different disciplines.
Guest lecturers from abroad are regularly invited to teach at our university. We encourage all our students to spend at least one semester abroad, either at a university or for a work placement. Students also have the opportunity to learn various foreign languages in the courses offered by our Language Center.
The International Office organizes numerous activities for international students and also provides information about partner universities, exchange possibilities and scholarships.
