The International Management bachelor’s degree program prepares students specifically for future specialist and leadership positions in internationally oriented companies and organizations. Therefore we intensively teach every aspect of economics and business administration. We place great value on internationality and being up to date. Moreover, our focus lies in the strategic and international concerns of management. At Hof University students enjoy an excellent education provided by internationally sophisticated lecturers with many years of management experience. A central component of this program is a one year stay abroad. Program participants study for one semester at one of our 50 renowned partner universities worldwide or at a self-determined university. In addition to that students complete an internship with an international enterprise. During the search students can count on us to provide an international network of contacts.
Furthermore, we put a special focus on language training. The student’s first foreign language will be English. During their studies, the goal is for students to reach C2-level, which ensures fluent and confident communication on the international stage. As second foreign language option, students can choose between Spanish and French, with the goal being to achieve C1-level. Students are also able to attend additional voluntary language courses, such as Chinese.
Beyond that we familiarize our students with economic and cultural specialties and characteristics of the most important economic areas. The understanding of economic contexts and of the cultural influence on management is an essential basis for successfully working in an international environment. Only those who know, understand and respect people from other cultures are able to effectively work together with them to achieve common goals.

Based on the international focus and the high performance-orientation of our program, we not only expect an outstanding completed general or subject-linked Abitur (higher education entrance qualification), but also very good English skills and sufficient skills in a second foreign language (please consider further detailed information concerning the language courses). Experiences abroad, for example in the context of an extended stay, are desirable. Moreover students should possess a high interest in economics and should be culturally open-minded and curious. The ideal student’s way of thinking and working methods are analytical and structured.
In order to be able to communicate with confidence in an international environment, a high degree of proficiency in English and at least one other foreign language is essential. Therefore, foreign languages constitute a significant part of this study program, and generally build on the level reached by the end of secondary school.
In addition to English as first foreign language, at Hof University you can choose between French and Spanish as a second foreign language.
For those who have not previously reached the required level in one of these two languages, Hof University also offers “Intensive Spanish” as a second foreign language. This option requires students to reach a basic competence prior to the beginning of their studies in October, and also requires them to continue to learn the language intensively during their studies. The university endeavors to support students as far as possible.
