Department for Computer Science

We stand for application development of secure, networked and user-centric solutions for the digital future.

Our teaching is practice-oriented, inspired by application-oriented research.

We offer all options from Bachelor's to Master's to cooperative PhD programs.

Our Institute for Information Systems (iisys) is the first computer science research institute at a University of Applied Sciences in Bavaria to bundle the research activities of the department.

Our study programs

This English-taught Master's program is designed for graduates of undergraduate computer science programs who are interested in gaining a deeper insight into current technologies through applied research.

Applied Research in Computer Science M.Sc.

This English-language degree program is designed for computer science and engineering graduates and provides in-depth knowledge in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics.

Artificial Intelligence and Robotics M.Sc.

This Bachelor's program is aimed at students who, in addition to information technology fundamentals, are also concerned with the issues of value creation processes in companies and their IT support. Here they deal with business process analysis, requirements engineering, digital transformation and enterprise resource planning (ERP).

Business Information Systems B.Sc.

The right degree program for students who want to develop sophisticated application programs especially in the areas of communication and automation. Here they deal with artificial intelligence, data science, Internet of Things, IT security and distributed systems.

Computer Science B.Sc.

This international Bachelor's program is aimed at international students who, in addition to intensive German language training, also want to acquire in-depth knowledge of current and exciting topics in computer science such as artificial intelligence, IT security, data science, robotics or the Internet of Things, and who enjoy working in interdisciplinary teams.

Computer Science international B.Sc.

This Master's program prepares graduates for complex development tasks in the networked and digitized world. Special focus is placed on cyber security, usability and user experience, data engineering and software architecture.

Computer Science M.Sc.

Students are trained for the conception, design and realization of multi-media applications in the field of new media (such as the Internet). Here you deal with human computer interfaces, usability engineering, virtual reality, 3D modeling and user experience design.

Media Informatics B.Sc.

This program is right for students who are interested in developing innovative apps on iOS and Android. Here they deal with Native Apps, Cross Platform Development, Machine Learning, Augmented Reality and Internet of Things.

Mobile Computing B.Sc.

The hochschule dual study program at Hof University represents a clear win-win situation for students and companies.

Students can acquire two professional degrees in a period of 4 ½ years, one as an IT specialist and the other as a Bachelor of Science of an IT degree.

For companies, there is a long-term commitment to the company and the opportunity to shape future employees.

The department accepts students in Computer Science, Media Informatics, Mobile Computing and Business Information Systemsfor the hochschule dual program.
