Application Process

Step 1 - Nomination

If you are a student from a partner university of Hof University, please contact the International Relations Office at your home university. You must have completed at least one year of full-time studies at university level before applying, and may then come for one or two semesters.

All applications for study must be submitted through a student exchange programme coordinator at your home university. Normally, your home university administers a nomination procedure before sending any applications to Hof University of Applied Sciences.



Step 2 - Online Application Portal

In order to apply with our university you need to fill in the application form:

  • create your own log-in
  • fill in all requested data
  • upload all requested documents including a biometric photo
  • print out the application form
  • sign the application form
  • have the application form approved by the Outbound coordinator of your home university
  • send the signed application form to


Please note Hof University cannot process your application without the requried signatures and supporting documents.


Application deadline for winter semester (September to February): 30 June

Application deadline for summer semester (March to July): 15 November

Step 3 review of your application and feedback

  • Admission Letter
    You and your coordinator from the sending institution will receive the admission letter by email.
  • Student Service Fees
    Together with the admission letter you will receive bank details in order to transfer the student service fees.
  •  Information package for exchange students
    The information package includes
    - time table for Orientation weeks and German intensive course
    - survival guide for international students
    - Arrival form
