Admissions and Application
The bachelor´s degree course Media Design runs over 7 semesters and offers on the basis of a concept and strategic oriented theory of design an ideal environment for eductaion and promotion of innovative and self- confident design personalities. Most other design degree programs are in the difficult situation of running over only 6 semesters of studies.
The educational spectrum covers in detail fundamentals of design, Typo/ Layout and Web Design as well as Editorial Design, Corporate Design, Photography, AV Media up to Interaction, Interface and Service design. Design training will be embedded with topics about analysis and strategy development as for example Design Methodology, Design Theory, Usability, Project Calculation, Project Management and Marketing. Service design and Interface design are the main themes in education and research.
Being part of the faculty of economics shows the innovative and future focused orientation of the Media Design study programme. This enables synergies and education offers which go far beyond a classical design course. Thorugh the integration of design- as well as economic competence design students learn to use their creatiev potential equally for design, conceptual and economic innovations. Through it they learn to link creativity and market economy connections professionally and succesfully to understand design as a basis for innovation, as well as for the development of creative, sustainable strategies within economic decisionmaking processes.
