Full-time Master Internationales Personalmanagement (M.B.A.) - IPM

The MBA program in International HR Management educates future managers in the field of
human resources with a special focus on international companies and organizations.
This MBA program is practical-oriented and focused on intensive training based on case studies.
In addition it also includes a mandatory two-semester internship. All lecturers hold a PhD and
have more than 5 years of professional experience, which ensures a high level of teaching quality.
This MBA program enables students to work and study in international teams, which fosters the
development of international competencies that will be extremely important for future tasks in
their jobs.
The language of instruction is German. However, some elective courses are offered in English, for
which students are required to have the appropriate English language level.
This MBA program is ideal for graduates in the subject German Philology who would like to
develop their future professional career paths in a company.

program objectives

This Master's program will enhance your personal and professional qualification for demanding tasks in human resource management. Graduates of the program will be able to become human resources manager in an foreign branch of a german company or a german branch of a foreign company.

target group and prerequisites

The Master's program "Internationales Personalmanagement”  is designed for international oriented graduates of German studies as well as Economics and Social Sciences who ideally have professional experience, preferably in the field of human resource management.

Prerequisites:

  • A BSc or similar from an accredited university in humanities, social, engineering or economic sciences or similar - minimum 180 ECTS or equivalent (depending on the home country)
  • Proficiency in German, proven by official test score documents (TestDaF 4 Score 16)
  • One year of work experience
  • Motivation letter

    course structure

    • The standard period of study is 4 semesters.
    • The first two semesters provide practice orientated theory (case studies, working in labs, excursions, expert meetings…).
    • The third and fourth semester is spent working as an intern in a human resource department to gain more practical experience. The Master’s Thesis has to be written during this time as well.
    • After successful completion of the program, Hof University of Applied Sciences awards the academic degree Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)

    Studieninhalte

    The Master’s program contains 12 modules, 5 ECTS per module (4 basic modules + 6 core modules + 2 elective modules):

     

    Basic modules:

    • Facts about Germany
    • Corporate Governance (Grundsätze der Unternehmensführung)
    • Betriebswirtschaft für Personaler (Annerkennung für Betriebswirte)
    • Führung, Veränderungsmanagement, Kommunikation

     

    Elective modules (choose two):

    • Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitssicherheit und Gesundheitsmanagement
    • Project Management
    • Kommunikation und Verhandlungsführung
    • Personalwirtschaftliches Kolloquium
    • English language I
    • English language II

     

    The 3rd and 4th semesters are dedicated for an internship (30 ECTS) in a company. During that period of study the Master's thesis (30 ECTS) has to be written as well.

     

    Master's Thesis

    • Application of the methodological procedures, which were obtained and trained during the entire program.
    • The thesis has to be written during the internship and should cover a current topic of the company.
    • Topic selection has to be done in accordance with the supervising professor

    tuiton fees

    • Each semester costs EUR 2,950 in tuition fees, plus an administrative fee of approx. EUR 100 per semester.
    • These fees include organizational support before and during your studies at Hof University as well as continuing counseling. We provide assistance in finding accommodation, offer orientation sessions prior to the start of your studies and organize additional activities such as intercultural trainings, field trips, company visits. Also, transportation in Hof is free of charge.
    • Accommodation and living expenses in Germany are estimated at around EUR 450 to EUR 500 per month, which includes rent and food. Mandatory health insurance (price depends on company and age - www.deutscheinsurance.com), visa and transportation costs are not included in this estimate. For your student visa you will have to provide financial proof of EUR 735 per month.

    • The application period for winter intake is between April 15 and May 31.
    • The application period for summer intake is between October 30 and November 30.
    • An admission committee intensively scrutinizes all applications and decides about final admission. Admission letters will be issued in June for winter intake and December for summer semester intake.
